Der BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix am Nürburgring ist eines der großen Highlights im Kalender und zieht jährlich im August bis zu 50.000 Zuschauer an. Er bietet einen faszinierenden Querschnitt durch die attraktivsten Epochen des internationalen Motorsports. Ein absoluter Publikumsmagnet waren dabei stets die Läufe der Formel-1-Boliden der 70er bis 90er Jahre, die bislang meist durch die englische "Masters"-Serie repräsentiert wurden.

Da die "Masters" ab 2026 nicht mehr in Deutschland gastieren, drohte eine Lücke im Programm – sehr zum Bedauern der Fans und vieler Teams. Um diese Tradition fortzuführen, haben die Organisatoren des Oldtimer Grand Prix die Initiative ergriffen: Ab 2026 wird mit der Formula Heritage eine eigene Klasse für historische Formel-Fahrzeuge an den Start gehen. Im ersten Jahr noch ohne Rennen im sportrechtlichen Sinne. 

Die Organisation im Namen der Veranstaltergemeinschaft übernimmt die Tourenwagen Classics GmbH, die bereits erfolgreich Serien beim OGP präsentiert. Mit der Formula Heritage schaffen wir eine neue Heimat für die Teams und garantieren, dass die Königsklasse auch in Zukunft Teil dieses einzigartigen Rennwochenendes bleibt.

The BELMOT Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring is one of the major highlights on the calendar, attracting up to 50,000 spectators every August. It offers a fascinating cross-section of international motorsport's most attractive eras. An absolute crowd favourite has always been the appearance of Formula 1 cars from the 70s to the 90s, previously represented primarily by the UK-based 'Masters' series.

As the 'Masters' will no longer be visiting Germany from 2026 onwards, the programme faced a potential gap – much to the regret of fans and many teams alike. To continue this tradition, the organizers of the Oldtimer Grand Prix have taken the initiative: starting in 2026, a dedicated class for historic formula cars will be launched under the banner of Formula Heritage. In its inaugural year, this will take place without official competitive racing status.

The organization for the Event Committee is being handled by Tourenwagen Classics GmbH, which already successfully presents series at the OGP. With Formula Heritage, we are creating a new home for the teams and ensuring that the pinnacle of motorsport remains an integral part of this unique race weekend in the future.
